The Children's Hour (2014)
SATB, a cappella, 2:30
Text: Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807–1882)
Longfellow's sentimental poem describes an idyllic family life. In this setting, warm harmonies outline the poet's inner thoughts, in contrast with the playful energy of his beloved daughters.
I Am In Need of Music (2019)
SATB, a cappella
Text: Elizabeth Bishop (1911–1979)
A romantic setting of Elizabeth Bishop's sonnet. Commissioned by Sacred & Profane Chamber Chorus.
I wandered lonely as a Cloud (2020)
SATB, a cappella
Text: William Wordsworth (1770–1850)
2021 winner of Chicago a cappella's HerVoice competition. Aleatoric choral parts underlay solo lines in this piece, written during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The work is an impressive feat of text-painting: Performers can sing
lines slightly staggered to create a hazy, pillowing effect. The ebb
and flow of the text clouds...rightly latches onto the ephemerality of
Wordsworth’s original, not its pretty scenery.”

Miss Me, But Let Me Go (2023)
SATB, string quartet, 3:30
Text: author unknown
Written for a memorial service, this setting of the popular poem can be performed with either string quartet or piano accompaniment.
Peace (2024)
SATB divisi, a cappella, 3:00
Text: Sara Teasdale (1884–1933)
Sustained slow notes in the lower voices portray peaceful waters while top voices take the tune. As the piece progresses, it expands into divided choirs of treble and low voices. This vocal orchestration is then combined to form a climactic SSAATTBB choir. The rhetorical peaceful waters of peace swells and rises in the climax, then recedes back to repeated word, “peace, peace…” for a calm conclusion.
Remember (2018)
SATB, piano, 3:00
Text: Christina Rossetti (1830–1894)
A lyrical setting of Christina Rossetti's poem, originally written for a memorial service. Flowing melodies and a supportive piano accompaniment make this an excellent choice for any choir
